Skipper

The skipper: I’m Johanna and I’ve been sailing since I was eight years old. Sailing is my passion. I remember the first time as if it was yesterday. My father took me sailing on Lake Chiemsee. He had chartered a pirate. That day, a gust of wind capsized the dinghy. Somehow this experience sparked my enthusiasm for this sport. I got my A licence and sailed optimists, pirates, corsairs, kites and a few more boat types in the following years.

Further sailing licences (SSS, SHS) and certificates of competence (UBI, SRC, FKN) followed. At some point, keel yachts and long trips were added to the programme. I sailed in my free time and professionally I sailed on tall ships. The voyages took me to North Africa, across the North Atlantic to the Caribbean and back, to the USA, to Canada, around England and Scotland, to the Azores, through the Bay of Biscay, to the Mediterranean, to Singapore, through the Straits of Malacca to the Philippines, to Sri Lanka, the Bitter Lakes and through the Suez Canal. In addition to sailing, I am also a keen cyclist. I almost always have my racing bike with me and on nice harbour days I usually go on a discovery tour

The yacht: There are many beautiful places in this world and the Blue Cruise is definitely one of them. It came into my life in 2018. The Blue Cruise stands for sailing, it connects people and horizons, it is an adventure. At the same time, it is a place of lightness and serenity. On it, you experience freedom with all your senses, it is a place to ‘come to yourself’, to slow down, to reward yourself and to relax.
